As the late David Bowie would say: FASHION! The new spring sunglass and reading glass styles have hit the runways and everything looks awesome. So many great eyewear trends have emerged and we have many of the fashion forward styles people will be looking for.

According to The Vision Council, the Spring 2017 trends range from classic/vintage styles to unusual and diverse. Color is definitely in especially color blocking, which was a prominent trend in the recent Oscar winning film La La Land. One trend that is carrying over from last year is colorful mirror lenses; however the twist is they are being paired with flat, angular lenses for more retro look.

It seems like every five years or so white framed eyewear comes back into style which now is big with vintage style and modern shapes. Classic aviator styles remain popular but now with a little more flare, like exaggerated brow lines, flat lenses and angular shapes. Also, plastic aviators have been popping up on the runway scene again; they are great for the sporty “athleisure” look. A great colored plastic aviator frame to top off your athleisure wear is sure to make your errand run slightly less dull.

Another hot trend for sunglasses and corrective eyewear is transparent frames. They have a modern, sophisticated appeal and go well with any skin tone or outfit.
